Cool foreign string instruments as a gift?

My brothers birthday is coming up and he's a guitarist and I want to
get him some kind of weird instrument or something like a mandolin as
a gift. Dont want to spend over the £50 mark which is difficult for
an instrument. Any ideas anyone?
